Well isn’t that nice? The mounting hole spacing has changed by 3mm on Intel socket 1700 boards compared to 115x and 1200 boards. No other material difference, and I now have Intel branded CPU coolers that won’t fit even a 12th gen chip board. They really are greedy despicable bastards.
These huge companies will pretend to care about the planet, talk endlessly about supporting the UN Sustainability Goals and blame the public for the millions of tons of “e-waste”, and yet for absolutely no good reason they have made all these perfectly serviceable CPU coolers useless, unless you spend more money on stupid adapters.
